ALR593 RIDER CHALLENGE
“Ride Across Texas” Iron Butt
If you are up for a challenge then Join us for a 1500+ mile ride and earn an Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 and BunBurner1500 riding awards. We will be leaving our departure point in San Antonio and riding to El Paso, Odessa, Lubbock, Wichita Falls, Ft. Worth, and back to San Antonio in under 36 hours.
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 11 (9/11) (may be postponed a week due to weather)
WHERE : Will meet at the Exxon on the corner of Nacogdoches and 1604 at 5:30 am for a last minute meeting and safety brief with KSU @ 6:00 am sharp. Will return to the same location between noon and 3 pm on Sunday, Sept. 12.
DETAILS: There will be a mandatory meeting after the ALR General Membership meeting on 10 August for all those interested in participating in the ride. There will also be a follow-up meeting on Thursday, 9 September to go over any last minute changes etc.
At the meeting(s) we will go over:
- Ride route and fuel stops
- Iron Butt Association (IBA) rules for ride certifications http://www.ironbutt.com
- Things to do to prep for long distance riding
- Rider Safety
- General Do’s and Don’ts for the ride
This ride is open to all ALR593 members and their invited guests. Members who invite guests will be responsible for passing on any information regarding this ride.
